So I happen to be checking Goodreads and I go to my profile (as an author with a Goodreads profile is wont to do) and I discover that my next YA is already listed on there! Honestly, if you want book news, always go to Goodreads first. They post my covers and titles and descriptions before I even get the go-ahead that they’re ready for public exposure.
Anyway, since the title and blurb for my newest YA is out there already it only makes sense that I bring it on over to you through my substack. My next book is…
*drumroll*
OF EARTHLY DELIGHTS
Ooo. Mysterious and lovely, yes? Yay, glad you agree.
The title comes from The Garden of Earthly Delights, a painting by the sixteenth-century artist Hieronymus Bosch. Take a gander at the middle panel of the triptych:
Beautiful and weird, right? I tried to emulate the same vibes for the book. Like the painting, the novel is composed of three parts. Sorta. And especially like the painting, the novel revolves around an epic, strange garden.
If you are so inclined, I’d love it if you added it on Goodreads.
And if you’d like to know more about it, here’s the official description:
A contemporary YA gothic romance about a dark family secret, a lush, mysterious garden, and a love that never dies, from New York Times bestselling author Goldy Moldavsky.
Aspiring artist Rose Pauly is not happy moving from her home in New York City right before her senior year of high school. But on her first miserable day in Connecticut, she meets Hart Hargrove. The two share an immediate, undeniable connection.
Hart introduces Rose to his slice of paradise–the immense private garden nestled behind the Hargrove family mansion. There, the two spend a fever dream of a summer together. But as their bond blossoms into love, Rose can't shake the feeling that all is not as it seems.
When Rose uncovers the truth about the garden, she's forced to question how genuine her love story truly is. But Hart can't bear to lose Rose, and he will stop at nothing to save their relationship.
Posing haunting questions about beauty and desire, this is an atmospheric and darkly romantic tale that will enthrall readers.
Of Earthly Delights comes out May 6, 2025.
